Instruments are key for scientists to do their research and are at the core of Clustermarket. You can find below some clarifications on how to set access rights, booking rules and even schedule maintenance events on equipment.
You can give each user individual booking rules and select the equipment that they are trained to use and allowed to book. Nevertheless, we recommend using Groups to set booking rules for a group of people and instruments. You can create a Group under the “Users” tab, by clicking on “Groups” and then on “Add Group”.
Yes. You simply need to assign the desired users and instruments to a Group that enforces this by selecting “Yes” for the booking rule “Do bookings require approval”. This way you can accept or decline the booking requests directly on the “Dashboard” under “Lab Activities” (see image below).
Yes. Under “Equipment”, when adding a new Equipment or just editing an existing one, under the “General Information” section, there is an option to upload “Related Documents” (pdf, docx, xlsx, jpeg) - SOPs, protocols, maintenance sheets - and “Equipment Images” (bmp, jpeg, jpg, png).
Yes. On the left side, under “Announcements”, click on “New Announcement” and select “Equipment Related Announcement”, choosing the recipients via a “Bookings” period they have booked or by “Equipment”.
We support bmp, jpeg, jpg and png as the file type and a maximum of 10MB for the size. There aren't ideal dimensions for it but they should be in a landscape orientation to get the best results.
We would recommend including an add-on to the equipment called 'Platinum usage (nm)' under Pricing Information on the Equipment Edit page. You can then set the quantity to 'User specified', so that the users can select the right quantity before making a booking. The material cost will then be added to the total cost of the booking.
